Supplier Partnership & Code of Conduct Policy

Purpose

Southern Harvest believes that strong, ethical partnerships form the foundation of sustainable growth. This policy outlines the standards and principles we expect from all farmers, suppliers, and partners who contribute to our mission of delivering pure, authentic, and responsibly sourced produce.

    Shared Values

Our suppliers are not just business partners — they are part of our community. Together, we share a commitment to:

Quality and Safety – Ensuring every product meets the highest hygiene, freshness, and food safety standards.

Sustainability – Using responsible agricultural and harvesting practices that protect the environment and conserve resources.

Integrity – Conducting all operations with honesty, transparency, and respect for people and nature.

      Ethical and Fair Practices

Suppliers must operate with fairness and in compliance with local and international laws. We strictly prohibit:

        Child or forced labor.

        Discrimination or unsafe working conditions.

Exploitative trade or unfair pricing practices.

Southern Harvest ensures fair compensation, safe working environments, and mutual respect in every partnership.

        Environmental Responsibility

All suppliers and partners are encouraged to minimize environmental impact by:

          Reducing waste and chemical usage.

          Conserving water and soil quality.

Using eco-friendly packaging and transportation methods where possible.

          Quality Assurance

Each batch of produce must be:

Freshly harvested, free from artificial ripening agents or harmful preservatives.

Hygienically handled, meeting Southern Harvest’s strict storage and packaging standards.

Traceable, with clear documentation of origin and harvest practices.

            Community Development

Southern Harvest prioritizes partnerships that contribute to rural employment, empower smallholder farmers, and preserve Sri Lanka’s traditional food culture. We actively support training, fair trade initiatives, and local economic development.

              Continuous Improvement

We encourage our suppliers to engage in ongoing improvement — adopting innovative, sustainable, and ethical practices that enhance long-term collaboration and shared success.
